To login to the Student Portal at My.NWTC:

  • Go to the NWTC website and click on the Student Login link at the top right of the page. Then click on the blue button in the top banner that says Log into My.NWTC.
  • If you already have an account - Enter your username (8-digit student ID number) and Continue. Then type your password (this is the same password you use to access email, Canvas, and for logging into a computer on campus) and click Next. You may need to use multi-factor authentication to verify your identify.   • If you don't have an account - Click on the Create Account button. You will be asked to enter your name, personal email address, birthdate, and Social Security Number (SSN, optional but helpful). Click Next and answer the additional questions.

Once signed in, you will not be asked to sign in again if you click to access email, Microsoft 365, or Canvas! 

NWTC protects your account with additional security. Periodically, you will be asked to verify your identity a second way. If you see a "more information required" screen, click Next.

There are several ways to secure your account. If you already set up your security method, you may get a security code sent to your phone or receive a notification from the Microsoft Authenticator app after you click Next.  

One Time Only - If you have not secured your NWTC account yet, and you have a mobile device, choose Mobile App, select the option to receive notifications, then click Set Up (If you don’t have a mobile device, skip to the phone instructions below).

You will be asked to install the Microsoft Authenticator app for your device and add a Work or School Account. Then you can scan the image or enter the code and url. Click Next to test the app and respond to the notification on your device. After the test, you will be asked to enter a phone number as a backup.

Phone instructions - If you don’t have a mobile device, you can choose the Authentication phone option and either have a code sent by text or a call.  Click Next to receive the code.
