Answer

Prerequisites are academic requirements that must be completed before enrolling in certain classes.

To request an override for a class prerequisite:

  1. Log in to the Student Portal using your NWTC ID number and password. You may need to use multi-factor authentication to verify your identity. (Watch a short video about how to log in to your account.
  2. Click Workday. You may be asked to enter your login information again.

  1. Type Request Course Section Prerequisite Override in the search box.

  1. Fill in the required information in the following boxes on the form.
    1. Academic Period – Choose the term and/or session in which you are enrolling.
    2. Course – Start typing the Course Number (Ex: 10101120) and select the course.
    3. Course Section – Click to see a drop-down list of all the sections of the course available during the selected term or session. Select the sections you are interested in enrolling in.
  2. Click OK.

  1. Click Submit to confirm the request on the next page. Do not enter comments in the text box.

  1. Click Complete Questionnaire.

  1. Select the option that best proves how you have met the course prerequisite.
  2. Use the textbox that appears to type the name of the college or high school and name of instructor or advisor or the “Other” reason you believe qualifies you for the class.
  3. Click Submit.

  1. The course prerequisite override request is submitted and sent to a Student Records staff member for review. When a request is approved or denied, a notification will appear in the bell icon
