Answer

We have the answers to all your printing questions! Use the links below to learn the instructions for:

Printing from a NWTC Laptop/Computer

  1. When logged into a NWTC computer or laptop, click Print within the application to send a print job to the NWTC_Print printers. To make any changes to the print job you must access the Printer Properties/Settings in the popup printing dialog box. You can set color options here, or other conditions such as single page printing. You cannot change them at the printer. The default printer settings are grayscale/B&W and duplex. Then click Print again.

  2. Students: You will not be charged until you release the print job at the printer.  You can check your balance at your PaperCut personal portal at https://print.nwtc.edu. On NWTC computers, you can also see how much money you still have available for printing in the PaperCut Balance box in the lower right of your screen

  3. Go to a printer at any NWTC location within 72 hours and enter your ID # or use your NWTC ID in the card reader (to register the ID card for the first time, enter your ID and password after placing on the reader).

  4. Choose which jobs you would like to print by adding a checkmark in front of each job. Then touch Print

Printing from Off-Campus or Personal Devices

You can print from anywhere using your own devices with two options!  Watch this short video to learn how.

Option 1 - Printing through Off-Campus Software Access If you are using NWTC's Off-Campus Software instructions for off-campus software and printing access, you can print using the above instructions above for printing from NWTC computers.  Remember to release your print jobs at an on-campus printer within 72 hours.

Option 2 - Using Web Print You can also send print jobs from your own device using PaperCut's Web Print option via your PaperCut personal portal.

  4. Enter the number of copies, then click Upload Documents.
  5. Drag files to the upload area or click Upload from Computer to select them.
  6. Click Upload & Complete to send the print jobs to the printer. Wait until you see the status as "Held in a queue" before closing the browser.

  8. Choose which jobs you would like to print by adding a checkmark in front of each job. Then touch Print.

Costs for Printing

Below are the costs for grayscale (black & white) and color printing. If your print job is set for color but one or more pages in it contain only grayscale, that page will only be charged for grayscale!

Grayscale Printing = 1¢ per side (2¢ per side for ledger 11x17 paper)

Color Printing = 6¢ per side (12¢ per side for ledger 11x17 paper)

Print Balances/Adding More Money

Students: On NWTC computers, the PaperCut box in the lower right of the screen keeps you posted on the balance of funds left in your print account.  This is the money that you still have available for printing.

Each semester (Fall, Spring, Summer), NWTC students currently enrolled in classes receive a “credit” in their print account about 1 week before the semester start date. For 2024-2025, the credit is $10 per semester. Balances will not carry over from semester to semester and no refunds will be provided for unused print credits from the semester allocation or funds you have added.

When you select print jobs at the printer, you can see the total cost for those jobs at the top of the screen. Your printing balance can be viewed at the printer when you click on the arrow next to any print job.

To add funds and view your balance, transaction history, and recent print jobs, log in to https://print.nwtc.edu with your NWTC ID number and password.

  • Click Add Credit to use your credit card, debit card, or PayPal account to add additional funds to your print balance.
  • Students can click the Transfers option to give print funds to other students (for example, when one person is doing all the printing for a group project). Just enter the amount to send and the receiving student's ID number. (NOTE: Employees cannot transfer any of their funds to student accounts).
  • If you are on the my.NWTC student portal, you can also add money/check your printing balance by clicking on the Add to My Print Balance link.
  • If you only have cash, you can continue to give it to the NWTC Green Bay Library staff or to the front desk staff at other NWTC locations and ask them to add the amount directly to your print balance through their PaperCut Admin System.

You can continue to use your print account as long as you are an active student or until your account has been inactive for three terms - about one year. After that time, you can purchase a community resident 3-month access card for computer/printing access. The card costs $2 and provides $2 worth of printing. Additional funds can be added, but no refunds will be provided for funds not used at the end of 3 months.

Watch this short video to learn how to add funds.

Finding Student Printers

Use this Printer Map to see the locations of student printers at NWTC Green Bay. If you want to print in color, make sure that you go to a color printer and uncheck the Print in Grayscale box for each print job. Printers only have three sizes of paper on campus: letter (8.5"x11"), legal (8.5"x14"), and ledger (11"x17").

Student printers are also available in hallways at the other NWTC locations.
