With just a few steps, you can turn on live captioning in Microsoft Teams and even translate captions into your preferred language.

Turning on Live Captions

  1. When you are in a Microsoft Teams meeting or call, click More from the top menu.
  2. Hover over Language and Speech.
  3. Then click Show Live Captions.

Translate Live Captions

After turning on Live Captions, follow these steps to translate the captions.

  1. Click the Settings icon in the live captions tray.
  2. Click Language Settings.
  3. Toggle the Translate To feature on.
  4. Then, select a language.

You can customize the caption style (font color, background, size, and position) by clicking the Caption Styles option in the caption Settings.

Adjusting Your PowerPoint View

If your presenter shows a PowerPoint using PowerPoint Live, you can also adjust the view by clicking the three dots icon. This will provide you with options for magnifying a slide, viewing in high contrast, or translating the content on the slide to a different language.
