What are the required sections of an APA paper?

The main sections of an APA paper are:

Title Page

• The Title Page is the first page of your paper.

Abstract (optional)

• Ask your instructor if they want you to include an Abstract.

• The abstract is the second page of your paper (after the Title page).

Body of Paper

• Repeat your paper title (centered and bolded again) at the top of the first page of text.

• See Citations in the Body of Your Paper for how to format your in-text citations.

References Page

• The References page is the last section of your paper.
• List the sources alphabetically by authors' last names (or name of organization, if there is a group author). If no author is listed, start with the title of the article, book, or web resource.
