Taking quality notes can be hard, but it doesn't have to be! Below are tips and resources to get you on the right track:
Tips
- Choose a system for keeping notes
- Write about what you read
- Paraphrase what you've read every few paragraphs.
- Pull out key terms and write out the definition/s in your own words.
- Write down any questions you have as you read.
- Identify connecting ideas and concepts or any contradictory ideas.
- Write a summary of the paper/assignment after you have finished.
- *Keep track of your sources if you are required to provide citations.
