There are two helpful websites from the U.S. Department of Labor that can help you learn about different jobs:
- Occupational Outlook Handbook gives you information about what different jobs do, how much education or training you need, how much they pay, and what the future looks like for those jobs. You can search by job name or look through job categories. Tip: Click the “More Info” tab on any job page to find extra links about that job, including training and certification options.
- O*NET OnLine gives detailed info about many jobs. It’s useful for students, job seekers, and people who work in hiring or career planning. You can search by job name, keyword, or even by tools or software used in the job.
