How do I cite an e-book?

APA

Use the same format for both print books and e-books. Include a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), when it is available.

Basic Format:

• Author, A. A., Author, B. B., & Author, C. C. (Year). Title of book: Subtitle words. Publisher Name.

Example:

• Goodwin, G., & Sachs, G. (2010). Fast facts: Bipolar disorder. Health Press.

MLA

Basic Format for E-Book from a Library Database (such as Ebook Central and O'Reilly's Online)

• Author. Title of Book: Subtitle of Book. e-book ed., Publisher, Publication Date.

Example:

• Kalusen, Jytte. The Cartoons That Shook the World. e-book ed., Yale University Press, 2009.
