If you have forgotten your password, you can change it yourself using a phone or computer.

To change your password:
- Go to the Student Portal login page.
- Click Forgot your password?

- Enter your 8-digit NWTC ID#. Click Continue.

- Review the password guidelines. Click Continue to Password Reset. (You must have your phone to verify your identity using the Microsoft Authenticator app or your primary phone number.)

- Your username should auto-populate on the next page. If it does not, enter your NWTC ID# followed by @nwtc.edu (Ex: 12345678@nwtc.edu). Enter the characters displayed to you and click Next.
- Choose either the Text or Call option and enter the phone number you used to set up your account.

- A verification code will be sent to your phone. Enter that code on the screen.
- Create a new password using the following requirements.
- Minimum length: 8 characters
- No personal information: Do not use your name or student ID
- Do not use a password you have used before.
- Include at least 3 of the following:
- Uppercase letter (A-Z)
- Lowercase letter (a-z)
- Number (0-9)
- Special character (Ex: !, @, #)

- Click Finish. You can now use your new password to log in to the Student Portal. If this is your first time logging in, you must set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) by following the MFA instructions.
Remember to update your personal email address in the student portal. A personal email address is required to change your password in the event that you are unable to access your NWTC email.
