My checklist shows CBC required. What does that mean?
If your admissions checklist shows CBC, this means you will need to create a Viewpoint account at https://www.viewpointscreening.com/nwtc and click on Get Started. If you completed viewpoint previously and are reapplying to a new program do NOT create another Viewpoint account. Please contact cbc@nwtc.edu Completion is generally required for Admission to your program or prior to starting clinicals.
What is Viewpoint?
Viewpoint is a 3rd party that manages background checks and securely stores/processes students health and immunization records. Some programs require a background check and health documents prior to being admitted or starting clinicals.
Do I need to create a new Viewpoint account if I apply to another program?
No. Contact CBC@nwtc.edu
I need help Scanning and Uploading Documents
If you need help scanning and uploading documents, feel free to stop in the NWTC Welcome Center to use the computers and scanner. Note: You can only upload PDF and image (BMP, GIF, JPEG, PNG) files to Viewpoint. If you are using one of these formats and it still will not upload, your file size may be too large, and you will have to convert it to a PDF.
How do I contact Viewpoint?
If you have any questions about your CBC status, please contact Viewpoint Student Help via email or use the Live Chat Feature in the bottom right corner of Viewpoint.
Help Obtaining Immunization Record
If your immunizations are from Wisconsin simply visit: https://www.dhfswir.org/PR/clientSearch.do
If your immunizations are from outside of Wisconsin, you can contact your primary physician for a record OR search “immunization records <STATE NAME>” to discover how to obtain your immunization records. See “TB Testing Instructions” for TB records.
Tuberculin Skin (TB) Testing Instructions
If you have never had a TB Skin Test, your options are:
- 2-step process (this consists of 2 complete TB skin tests administered 1-3 weeks apart. Each TB skin test requires 2 appointments)
- If positive TB skin test, get QuantiFERON Gold, T-Spot Blood Test, or chest x-ray
- Single Blood Assay Test IGRA (QuantiFERON Gold or T-Spot)
- If QuantiFERON Gold or T-Spot is positive, then a clear chest x-ray with questionnaire is required.
If you have received a 2-step TB Skin Test,
- Follow annual renewal process (every 12 months)
- Complete Annual TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire (found under TB requirement in Viewpoint health portal)
- If you answered YES to any of the questions, you fall into a high-risk group and will be required to have a blood assay or chest x-ray.
- The Questionnaire form and an acceptable TB Test Document must be submitted. Submitting the Questionnaire form alone is not acceptable and will be rejected.
- Complete Annual TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire (found under TB requirement in Viewpoint health portal)
What to Expect for 2-step skin test:
This process takes a minimum of 2 weeks to complete. You must provide the date of each visit.
- The TB test is a two-step process (two tests).
- You will visit the medical provider a total of 4 times.
- The first appointment is when you receive your first TB test.
- The second appointment (48 hours later) the TB results are read.

Which CPR course is needed?
NWTC requires the AHA BLS CPR course. If you have not already completed an American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR course, you can enroll in this 4-hour course at NWTC through your student account at: www.nwtc.edu/mynwtc ... The catalog number is 47531200.
If you have already completed the CPR course. Submit your eCard following course completion. Note: e Cards are emailed and may go to a spam or junk folder. For any other locations, submit a copy of your ecard to Viewpoint.
What if I previously created a Viewpoint Account?
If you created a Viewpoint Account already through NWTC, do NOT create a new account! Contact cbc@nwtc.edu. Immunization records can generally stay current for a lifetime and do not need to be resubmitted. Background checks may be good up to 4 years with a recheck.
If you have a Viewpoint Account through another school or organization, contact Viewpoint to see if they can switch to NWTC. Generally, Viewpoint is unable to switch, and you will need to create a new account through NWTC.
Is the COVID Vaccination Required?
There is a declination form you can find within your Viewpoint account. If this is an option you would like to pursue, please read the declination form thoroughly and understand that declining the vaccine could impact completing the clinical requirements in your program. Once you complete the declination form in Viewpoint, you will also need to complete the exemption request and provide supporting documentation. For more information, please see the COVID-19 FAQs: https://www.nwtc.edu/getmedia/a1f4d4ba-0c92-471d-97c7-2de4775e0e59/COVID-19-Vaccination-FAQ.pdf

I uploaded the wrong document to Viewpoint. Can I delete it?

What is the difference between a BID (Background Information Disclosure) Reorder and a Background Check Recheck?
A complete BID form must be submitted during the ordering process to complete your Viewpoint order and start the Caregiver Background Check process. If your BID is incomplete in any way, the background check process is put on hold, and you must complete a BID Reorder for a $5.00 fee to resubmit your BID for processing.

What if I have past criminal charges?
It's understandable to feel nervous, but being honest is key!
- DISCLOSE anything: If you have pending charges (accusations not yet decided) or past convictions, be sure to mention them on the BID form.
- Why it matters: The background check includes court records, and if there's a mismatch between what you say and what they find, some program sites might automatically reject you.
- It's up to the sites: NWTC doesn't decide who gets approved, individual program sites review your background check and make the call.
- Get help if needed: If you have questions or concerns, email cbc@nwtc.edu before starting the background check process.
Remember, honesty is always the best policy. By disclosing any past issues upfront, you increase your chances of a smooth application process and getting accepted into the program.
How long does it take for my application checklist to update?
If you have completed all items in your Viewpoint Account. Email cbc@nwtc.edu
