Answer
Videos can be inserted into PowerPoint presentations by embedding or linking them. Embed a video if you want to insert a copy of a video into the presentation. Create a link to the video if you found the video online (such as on YouTube) or if the video will be updated and you want to view the most recent video.
Note: Videos from the Library's Films on Demand subscription should be added as links, not embedded.
Option 1: Embed a Video
- Open PowerPoint.
- From the slide panel on the left-hand side, click the slide you want to embed a video into.
- In your web browser, go to the website that contains the video that you want to embed, such as YouTube, SlideShare, Vimeo etc.
- Once you locate the video, click Share, then Embed.
- Copy the embed code.
- In your PowerPoint presentation, click the Insert tab from the top ribbon. Click Media, then Video.
- Click Online Videos.
- Paste the embed code in the field for Enter the address for the online video. Click Insert.
To preview the video embedded in the slide, click the Slide Show tab from the top ribbon, then select Start From Beginning or Start From Current Slide.
