Please note that you will need to update your phone number in two different locations.
First, update it in Microsoft for Password Reset/Multifactor Authentication (MFA) purposes. For instructions on setting up Microsoft Authenticator visit https://www.nwtc.edu/about-nwtc/iit/multi-factor-authentication.
Second, update your home contact information in Workday.
Step One: Updating Your Phone Number in Microsoft
- Log in to the Student Portal using your NWTC ID number and password. You may need to use multi-factor authentication to verify your identity. (Watch a short video about how to log in to your account.)
- In the upper right corner, click on your name and then click on Account.

- Scroll down an click on Change your MFA methods.

- Click Change next to your current phone number.
- Enter your new phone number. If you choose Receive a code, you will be prompted to enter it. If you choose Call me, you will receive a call from Microsoft and will need to press the # key on your phone. Once finished, select Next to complete the set up.

Step Two: Updating Your Phone Number in Workday
- Go back to your student portal. You may need to click on your name and then click on Account again. Click on Update your personal information.

- Click on your profile icon in the upper right corner.

- Click View Profile,

- Click Contact on the left side.

- Click the Edit button at the top of the page.

- Under Phone, click the pencil icon.

- Update your phone number or add a new one and make it primary. Once done, click Submit.
