How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by visiting the Academic Coaching and Tutoring website, finding your subject/topic, and clicking on the Schedule Appointment link in the available schedule. You will be redirected to Starfish where you can book an available time slot.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
You must cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance. To do so, log into Starfish and update your appointment. If you need assistance, contact Academic Coaching and Tutoring at academiccoaching@nwtc.edu or 920-498-5639.
Are virtual tutoring sessions available?
Yes, virtual tutoring sessions are available for some topics. When scheduling your appointment, you can choose the virtual option (if available) and will receive a link to join the session via Microsoft Teams.
Can I schedule multiple appointments for the same day?
Academic Coaching and Tutoring asks that students limit scheduling appointments to no more than 1 hour a day per subject area. Scheduling more than 1 hour takes away from other students being able to use these services.
What happens if I am late for my appointment?
Tutors will stay for the first 15 minutes of the appointment. Appointments will not exceed the original appointment time, even if you are running late. If you arrive at the appointment within the first 15 minutes of your session, you will be asked what you would like to accomplish in the remaining appointment time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, then your appointment is considered cancelled.
What if the tutor doesn’t show up?
If you arrive at your appointment and the tutor has not arrived within the first 15 minutes, notify a staff member in the Academic Coaching and Tutoring lab if one is available. If a staff member is not available, contact Academic Coaching and Tutoring (academiccoaching@nwtc.edu or 920-498-5639). If you do not receive an answer right away, assume the appointment is cancelled, and a staff member will contact you within 24 business hours of your communication.
What should I bring to my tutoring session?
Bring all the notes, textbooks, and materials you will need for your course topic. Be ready with a specific goal for the session, including questions you would like to discuss and review. The tutor will guide you during your appointment on those topics.
