Answer

NWTC’s scholarship process allows you to fill out one application. The system will match you to scholarships you qualify for.

Scholarship applications are accepted twice a year.

  • Fall Semester: Applications accepted March 1 – May 16. Students are notified via email in June. Awards can be used for summer.
  • Spring Semester: Applications accepted October 1 – November 5. Students are notified via email in December.

If you have filled out a scholarship application for a previous semester, you will need to complete the application again for each semester you wish to be considered for a scholarship.

To fill out a scholarship application:

  1. Log in to the Student Portal using your NWTC ID number and password. You may need to use multi-factor authentication to verify your identity. (Watch a short video about how to log in to your account.

  2. From the left-hand menu, click Finances.

Letters of Recommendation

The NWTC scholarship application requires you to submit a letter of recommendation. One letter of recommendation is required, but three are better. A letter of recommendation is similar to a professional reference, where the person you choose articulates your strengths and praises your accomplishments.

Suggested people to ask for a letter of recommendation: Teacher, employer, co-worker, coach, pastor/minister, mentor.

Do not ask a friend, family member, or significant other to write a letter of recommendation.

The person you choose to write a letter of recommendation for you will receive an email from NWTCFoundation@ngwebsolutions.com with instructions on how to complete their recommendation. Letters of recommendation may only be submitted through the online process.
