Answer

Most NWTC instructors do not consider Wikipedia a credible source for a research paper assignment! Because literally anyone can create, edit, or delete Wikipedia articles, it is difficult to judge the credibility of the content of any Wikipedia article at any point in time.

But do not worry! The NWTC Library has several resources that will help you choose and narrow down a research topic. A great place to start is the Current Topics Research Guide, which links to Opposing Viewpoints in Context and SIRS Issues Researcher.

Think of these resources as collections of mini-research guides on hundreds of current, controversial topics. Each guide contains hundreds of full-text resources, such as articles (magazines, newspapers, and scholarly journals), book chapters, statistics, and more.
