There are 2 ways to embed videos into your PowerPoint presentation.

Option 1:

1.    Open PowerPoint.

2.    On the Slides tab in Normal view, click the slide to which you want to embed a video.

3.    In your browser, go to the web site that contains the video that you want to link to, such as YouTube or Hulu.

4.    On the web site locate the video and click on Share and then click on Embed.

5.    Copy the embed code and scroll down to make sure that Use Old embed code (?) is checked. (Some embed codes may be located to the right of the video).

6.    In your PP presentation, click the Insert tab and in the Media Group click Video.

7.    Click on Online Video.

8.    The Insert Video window will display. Here you will want to paste the embed code into the From a video Embed Code section and click the arrow to the right of the pasted code.

10. Click on Slide Show tab, click Start from Beginning or Start from Current Slide to preview.

Note: Most web sites that contain videos include an embed code, yet the locations of embed codes will differ depending on each website. Also, some videos do not have an embed code; therefore, you cannot link to those. And, to be clear, even though they are called 'embed codes', you are actually linking to the video and not embedding it in your presentation.

Option 2:

1.    Open PowerPoint.

2.    On the Slides tab in Normal view, click the slide to which you want to embed a video.

3.    Click on the Insert tab.

4.    In the Media section, select Video.

5.    Click on Online Video. The Insert Video window will appear.

6.    The first option, you see in the window is a YouTube Search. Here you can type in the name of the video you are looking for and your results will populate.

7.    Click on the video you wish to add to your presentation and click Insert at the bottom of the window.

8.    Click on Slide Show tab, click Start from Beginning or Start from Current Slide to preview.
