Yes, the 8th edition of the MLA Handbook is now available, complete with a new philosophy and major changes!

On the NWTC Citation Guide there is a link to an Overview of MLA 8th edition. It includes a brief introduction to the philosophy behind the changes, an explanation of Core Elements, and examples of common Works Cited entries.

Another great resource is the MLA Style Center, which is maintained by the Modern Language Association (MLA). The MLA Style Center provides an overview of what is new/what has changed, examples of common citations, and guidelines for formatting your paper, as well as sample papers.
