We link to several citation generators on the Citation Guide. The two most-used resources are:

Citation Builder (helps with APA and MLA)

  • Just click on this link http://www.lib.ncsu.edu/citationbuilder/.
  • Select the resource type (book, article, website, etc.) you want to cite from the first drop-down menu
  • Select the citation style (MLA 8 or APA) from the second drop-down menu.
  • Then fill out the form with as much information as you can and click Submit.
  • You can then copy the citation and paste it into your works cited/references/bibliography page.

KnightCite Citation Service (helps with APA and MLA)

  • Just click on this link http://www.calvin.edu/library/knightcite/index.php.
  • Select MLA or APA (under Citation Styles in the left-hand column).
  • Click on the Resource Type (book, article, website, etc.) you want to cite.
  • Then fill out the form with as much information as you can and click Submit.
  • You can then copy the citation and paste it into your works cited/references/bibliography page.
