Answer

In addition to meeting the requirements for a GED Certificate, you must complete the following requirements for an HSED:

  • Health Literacy Test
  • Civics Literacy Test
  • Employability Skills Interview

These two tests and the Employability Skills Interview are given by appointment only.

HSED Tests are pass/fail, untimed, and not counted in the total score of the 4 GED Tests.

Health Literacy covers:

  • Mental and Emotional Health
  • Personal and Family Health
  • Community and Environmental Health
  • First Aid
  • Nutrition

Civics Literacy covers:

  • Principles of United States Constitutional Government
  • Functions of Wisconsin State Government
  • Individual Rights and Responsibilities
  • Structure and Role of the Court System
  • Roles of Political Parties

Employability Skills - You must:

  • submit a typed resume and introductory letter
  • submit a completed job application form
  • meet with an NWTC counselor to complete a simulated job interview
