In addition to meeting the requirements for a GED® Certificate, you must complete the following requirements for an HSED:
- Health Literacy Test
- Civics Literacy Test
- Employability Skills Interview
These two tests and the Employability Skills Interview are given by appointment only.
HSED Tests are pass/fail, untimed, and not counted in the total score of the 4 GED® Tests.
Health Literacy covers:
- Mental and Emotional Health
- Personal and Family Health
- Community and Environmental Health
- First Aid
- Nutrition
Civics Literacy covers:
- Principles of United States Constitutional Government
- Functions of Wisconsin State Government
- Individual Rights and Responsibilities
- Structure and Role of the Court System
- Roles of Political Parties
Employability Skills - You must:
- Submit a typed resume and introductory letter
- Submit a completed job application form
- Meet with an NWTC Career Advisor to complete a simulated job interview
